Maria explains how this is an excellent question and that she actually believes golfers should do both. Maria believes the best way to practice is to make the situation as realistic as possible, by going through your pre-shot routine and shoot to different targets on the range.

However, it is okay to build some repetition and stay in the same position on the range, especially if using aiming clubs or swing plane poles to groove a specific aspect of your swing. If you are doing something like this, work the repetitions early in the practice session and then finish with some realistic reps by going through your routine on every shot.
