Casual golfers often have a misconception about the roles that their shoulders play in an effective golf swing. In pursuit of achieving a perfect backswing, these same players often forget to factor in how wide they’re opening up their shoulder rotation.

With golf instructors releasing lessons that often contradict each other, it can become very foggy for amateurs as to what the best method may be for improving their golf swing. Most players will find that allowing your shoulders to swing in a natural way can be much easier than studying ineffective drills from different swing coaches.

George Gankas golf lessons also focus on the natural motion existing in players. Unlike the typical online golf academy, the GG Swing method refines a player’s swing rather than rebuilding it from scratch. Players from around the world have stated that watching George Gankas golf videos has done more for their golf swings than hours of lessons they previously had.

Starting from address, players position their shoulders in a parallel to their target line. The shoulders should always be aimed in the same exact direction as the player’s hips. As you start your backswing, the shoulders will be the first thing to move after address. Your hips should remain in the same positioning you established at address. You should not rotate your hips during the backswing until you begin to feel the onset of your muscles beginning to tense up. Your hips will only turn around 50% as much as your shoulders during the backswing transition.

At this point, your hips should also be rotating away from the ball once your shoulders have reached this degree during the backswing.

When transitioning into your downswing, your hips will rotate before your shoulders, leading the way past the ball until your shoulders have assumed the same positioning.
