Some people say that you shouldn’t try and mimic a PGA tour player’s swing, you can’t swing the same as them. But I think you should do exactly that! I think you should look at PGA tour players and model what they do.

In this video I’m giving the most important checkpoints to a PGA tour quality backswing. What I want to show you is the things that I look for checkpoint-wise – what are the commonalities amongst all good players. I’m going to use a video of Hideki Matsuyama as I use him as my stock backswing video all the time. I also use Adam Scott, because they’re both super vanilla. They do a lot of really good normal things. We’ll go through their swing videos and I’ll point out all things that I see that all good players do during the backswing. These are the that things you need to be looking for when you’re practicing. Use these checkpoints to correlate your own feels.
