Characterized by a curving flight path that veers hard to the left, snap hooks are a common threat to golfers of all skill sets.

Whenever a player finds themselves producing snap hooks on the course, they typically will find themselves in a frustrating situation.

Through the GG Swing Method, George Gankas golf theory aims to assist players in amplifying their natural ability while working to correct and develop any talents they may find lacking in their game.

A recent internet sensation, George Gankas golf videos are studied around the globe, with many international golfers adopting the GG Swing Method as their chosen method of education and training.

No stranger to snap hooks, take a look at today’s video and see George reconstruct the golf swing of a seasoned veteran who’s game was in need of a tune up.

The causes of a snap hook usually stem from an inside-to-outside swing, with the clubface closing at impact.

Such circumstances can easily be remedied by dissecting our golf swing to correct the trouble areas causing the hook.

Developing a golf swing that promotes a square club face with calculated release on the correct swing plane are the main things a player must develop in order to avoid snap hooks on a consistent basis.

When evaluating elements of our golf swing for the purposes of snap hook prevention, many golfers will find that some of the easiest corrections they can make have a huge overall impact, such as the way they grip the club during their swings.

One exercise, geared towards helping golfers develop a neutral grip, can work to eliminate our snap hooks altogether.

Gripping our golf club with only the fingers on our trail hand, with two knuckles still visible, we then take hold of the club with our dominant hand, allowing our index finger and thumb to align with our corresponding shoulder.

The pinky finger on our dominant hand will then be situated in between our middle and index fingers on our trail hand.

This will effectively establish a neutral grip that promotes an open clubface throughout the entirety of our golf swing.

Once such neutral grip has been established in our setup, bring the golf club back and angle it towards the toe as hip level has been reached, also preventing our clubface from closing during our backswing position.

Golfers who suffer from habitual snap hooks may find the cause of their problem to be an improperly aligned spine angle.

Many players who encounter snap hooks on a consistent basis may be moving out of their correct spine angle as their club impacts the golf ball.

Praciting your shot with a wider stance may be an easy fix if you’re experiencing constant interruptions in the way your spine tilts forward during a typical golf swing.

With each foot spread further apart from each other, our center of gravity lowers and staying low during our golf swing becomes much easier for most players who adopt such a swing stance.

Many golfers note that when hitting snap hooks regularly, their hands have a lot of action in them during the point of impact in their golf swing.

Instead of constantly squaring their clubface through wrist rotation, golfers must rotate their club through body rotation instead.

Much of this rotation can be found through chest rotation using our core muscles to square our clubface rather than relying on excessive hand and arm movement to do the job.

Golfers who begin to rely less on the rotation in their wrists and arms have noted measurable improvements in all areas of golf, not just in relation to the elimination of snap hooks from their normal game.
