Utilizing both our left and right sleeves during your short game training has many benefits. I like to start by using my right or trail arm sleeve to help increase body rotation and create the width I am looking for in my backswing. Improving your takeaway from the ball will in turn help create a better transition in to impact and acceleration of the body through to the finish. After hitting a handful of shots with the trail arm sleeve I’ll switch to the left or lead arm sleeve. Our sleeve on the lead arm when used for chipping and pitching acts as a reminder, keeping the hands quiet and minimizing their over rotation through impact, taking you in to a finish position keeping the club out in front of the chest. After a handful of shots here I will then hit a number of shots without the sleeve ensuring there is always an element of feel to my normal swing. With time you will find your overall rotation and stability in your chipping and pitching technique will improve significantly.
