Lag Putting

In this episode of Cobe Life On the Course I will show you a couple of real situations that required me to use my full repertoire of Lag Putting techniques. The two Putts in this video are quite different in that I’m able to get a decent read of the break on one of them, but not the other. This completely changes the way I approach each lag putt.

As a Beginner Golfer you should always be somewhat defensive when hitting lag putts. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t attempt to sink them when you have a great read. What it means is that ensuring a two putt is more important than trying to sink it. What’s great about this video is that it shows how careful I am to not miss the putt with the correct read on the low side which would cause it to run out. It also shows how I intentionally hit the putt with the poor read long so that I may acquire a read as it passes the hole, while also limiting how much of an effect the break has.

The easiest place to save strokes is on the Green, so put in the requisite practice to make the most of your time there.
