Proper grip pressure is one of golf’s most elusive fundamentals – and it’s as difficult to describe as it is to achieve. One method that helps set the proper pressure in the left hand is the short/long thumb technique. Out on the golf course we are faced with multiple shots where we require distance or we need more accuracy. By making this simple adjustment to our left hand grip we can achieve both elements by shifting the pressure in our fingers and adding/reducing the wrist hinge during the backswing.
