Workshop Class Description:
Are you tired of Knee pain and tight Hamstrings? Do you want to learn how to keep your
Knees and Hamstrings healthy and safe, especially during workouts, various daily activities or as your body ages? Well in this workshop style class you will learn drills, how to strengthen your muscles to better support your joints, top yoga poses for Knees and Hamstrings while learning breathing instructions to safely stretch and tune into your mind body connection. You will also learn several mobility improving techniques, massage and self care, exercises and daily routines and tips you can incorporate into your life to help your Knees and Hamstrings. About The Instructors:
In 2014 Josh Jackson suffered a Patellar Tendon Rupture to his Left Knee and was told by surgeons that he will never play sports again even after his surgery! After meeting Kia Monet, a 500 hr certified yoga teacher with a passion for teaching those with major health issues, seniors, athletes and those with injuries, they developed a fitness and yoga program for him to learn how to walk again, do Olympic Lifting and to be able to play golf again. In less than 1 year, Josh was working out and back on the golf course again! Now in 2020, Josh is back to Barbell Squatting up to 575 lbs and has an even more powerful golf swing with a club-head speed of 147 mph with his longest drive measuring at 431 yards. Josh is currently a professional World Long Drive Tour Golf Competitor, and a Golf Instructor. Josh has also been certified as a TRX, Crossfit, and personal trainer.
Kia Monet is a 500hr Yoga Instructor that has taught Yoga professionally since April of 2015 teaching several styles and levels of daily studio classes, private lessons, and several different workshops. Over the past 5 years Kia has instructed fellow yoga teachers, the Washington Redskins football team, doctors, athletes, newborns to elderly, stroke survivors, special needs students, physically disabled, those in wheelchairs, all levels from injury recovery to beginner- advanced yoga practitioners of all body types and backgrounds. Kia teaches judgement free and accessible style yoga classes to everyone. Before sharing her passion of yoga, Kia worked for 17 years as a Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontal, Orthodontic and Dental Assistant.
