How Your Grip Influences Ball Flight – Mark Blackburn

Grip and how it influences clubface control is extremely important in the golf swing. A neutral grip, a weak grip and a strong grip each produce characteristics of the shot you’re trying to hit.

With a strong grip, if you rotate very flat into impact, you’re going to close the clubface whereas a weaker grip will guard against that. While there are no absolutes in golf, a neutral grip is more ideal for being able to accurately strike the ball with little movement. However, whichever type of grip you employ, it’s important to understand how that grip influences what you may consider your misses.
