Hip Turn Drills For the Downswing

In this tip I show you hip turn drills to get the hips moving in the downswing. Once you incorporate this into your swing you will hit the ball with more power than you could ever imagine.

The hip turn generates this power due to the coiling action in the backswing. Once coiled tightly, you simply uncoil the other way. In doing so, this creates a spring-like effect which snaps your upper body down and through to the follow through.

If your arms are connected to this spring-like effect, they will come down and through. Couple this will loose wrists and you have a way to generate amazing power without trying to the ball solely with the hands and arms.

By practice these hip turn drills you will finally be working on the right power source in your swing. Unfortunately, it is too easy to just whack at the ball with the arms. This plus the fact the ball is sitting in front of you on the ground puts you in a situation where you just try to hit at the ball.

Once you are working on the right power source you are then working on what a pro uses to hit the ball. If hitting great shots was as easy as just using your arms would there not be a lot more great players. Pros are hitting amazing golf shots with their legs not their arms so learning how to use the lower body is essential if you want to take you game to the next level.
