Golf Backswing – How to Position the Club on a Good Swing Path

Golf Backswing – Golf lesson and golf tips on how to position the club back correctly and on a good swing path during the backswing.

Once you’ve grooved a good takeaway position and slotted the club into a good halfway back position during the backswing, completing a full swing is relatively straightforward.

► Golf Backswing Tips – Video Golf Lesson Summary

– The backswing begins as soon as the takeaway finishes – when the club shaft is parallel to the ground – and ends at the top of the swing.

– The hinging in your wrists should occur gradually during this stage of the swing.

– When your arms are parallel to the ground, the end of your grip should be aiming at the ball if someone was looking from behind the ball.

– Again from that backswing position, your chest should be positioned behind your hands. If your hands are in front of your chest, your swing is too far outside. If your hands are towards your back your swing is too far inside.
