How do you fix a slice?
A slice is a ball that goes to the right for a right-handed player, and to the left for a left-handed player.
Sometimes “The Committee of They” gives you advice that may not be correct. The “Five Old Wives Tales” can confuse you, give you too much to think about, and mess you up.
BEWARE of:
1. Keep Your Head Down
2. Keep Your Left Arm Straight
3. Shift Your Weight/Turn Your Shoulders
4. Hit the Ball
5. Follow Through
On the backswing, if you turn, the clubhead will go back further than your front arm. If you shift your weight and pull through, the club face will be behind the grip, the face will be wide open, and the ball will go way right for right-handed players (left for left-handed players).
Solution:
Knock your knees in toward each other.
Keep your body still.
Relax Your Wrists
Swing back with relaxed wrists.
Throw the face back to the ball with your back hand.
Remember=The Ball Goes Where the Face Points- Get the Face Back to the Ball
