Short Iron Swing: how to get it close!

http://www.simpleswingthoughts.com Hey everbody Terry Bradley here and today we are going to learn the short iron swing. These are your scoring clubs, get this right as your ball strkiing increases and we will have you scoring in the 80’s in no time.

The short iron swing is based on clubs that have more natural offset than any of your other clubs and because of this we have to get the grip right to hit these clubs effortlessly.

The grip of your short iron club begins with taking the club in your left hand and grip it in the base of your fingers and when you close your hand the handle is going to rest below the padding of your left thumb. With the right hand grab the club also in the base of the fingers and close your hand and have the handle rest below the padding of your right hand. From here turn your wrist to the left without repositioning your hands on the club. Place the club on the ground and lean the shaft forward to take the club face from closed to square. This grip will ensure a good short iron swing.

When swinging the short iron make sure you leave your lower body quite as you turn around your spine, drop your arms while planting on your left leg, keep your head behind the ball and rotate your hand through the ball. The short iron swing is what produces lower scores because you have to get these close for better scores. Fore more FREE videos on the short irons and more go to our website simpleswingthoughts.com
