Rhys Bishop’s Golf Tip #2 – Swing your driver in from around the corner – Powered by Golf Warehouse

If you’re not hitting your driver properly you need to watch what’s happening here. It’s not talked about often, but it’s a big problem that I see everyday.

When you’re hitting an iron or a short club, you want to be taking the club pretty much straight up and down when you’re actually hitting the ball.

But when you hit your big club (your driver) you’re standing a long way away from it, and the club should really arc from around the corner.

If I was kicking this like a rugby ball, I’d come in from here to kick it and as i come in my foot would come in on a 45 degree angle, it wouldn’t come straight down. But as my foot exits it actually exits straight, which is then where the rugby ball goes.

Golf with a driver is exactly the same, the club should be coming from around the corner to actually hit the ball. That’s why when you watch a golf professional hit, as we hit it always looks like the ball goes off to the right.

Remember swing your driver in from around the corner.. and you’ll hit it straight every time.
