If you want to get more club head speed, many golfers think of getting a new driver or changing golf swing technique. But there is a simpler way to generate more club head speed, and you are standing on it. In this video with Sanford POWER Physical Therapist Adam Moen, we discuss how you can better interact with the ground to create more speed and distance off the tee, and you don’t have to change your swing to do it!
Every golfer wants to hit the golf ball farther, have the longest drive off the tee and win the longest drive competition with their foursome, but how do you actually hit the golf ball farther down the fairway? One of the biggest areas to increase distance starts with utilizing the ground, understanding how to transfer your weight from back swing to downswing, and being able to use the ground to create that power and force into impact.
This video discusses how simple things like how jumping and using box jumps can help you interact with the ground, how to use a medicine ball to learn how to build the pressure into the backswing and trail foot and transfer it into the downswing and lead foot, and a simple step drill to help you tie the concepts together.
