Hey everybody thanks for tuning in I'm George Conley with scratch golf tips Today we're going to be having a product Review kind of a product comparison Between Callaway wedges we're going to Be comparing the Callaway md4 wedges With the Callaway Jaws wedges now before I get into the nitty-gritty of the Comparison I would like to disclose that I've always liked Callaway golf Um I think I've had exclusively Callaway Clubs in my bag for the past six or Seven years I've never had any wedgers Other than Callaway so I can certainly Speak to my experience with Callaway but This is not endorsed by Callaway or or They have nothing to do with it I'm just A consumer of their Club so I want to Give my honest opinions on my time spent With the md4s as compared to now my time Set with the new Jaws wedges so I have a Few wedges of each in the bag but I'll Just be comparing some Gap wedges this Is a 52 degree wedge from the md4 set I Got it standard with a standard Dynamic Gold shaft and the standard Callaway Grip this is our milled with an S grind I've always loved this club I love how It feels in the hands it's always been a Heavier Club especially compared to Other wedges again I've used other Wedges I've just never had any other Wedges in my bag so when I think of the Md4 I think of a very sturdy club and a

Club That's Heavy which for me has both Pros and cons the major Pro with a heavy Wedge is that I love the full Swings With it so this 52 I can Max it out Around 118 yards the stock shot with it For me is right around 115 and my full Swing I love it and I love to knock down Shots with this I can hit like a 100 Yard shot with my 52 because I can put It back in the stance flight it down a Little bit I feel better over the ball With a heavier golf club that's with the Full swings however I do not like a Heavier Club when it comes to chipping And utilizing it around the greens I've Always found a lighter Club I feel feel It with my hands better on those more Touchy shots I don't need to feel it in My hands when I'm having a full swing so That's where the Jaws comes into play so This is A 56 degree Jaws wedge this also is the Rml it has the full toe grooves on it But this feels less sturdy in my hands But around the greens I'm really really Fall into these golf clubs I don't feel As comfortable over the ball with a full Swing this 56 will take me right around 105 yards and again this is the same Dynamic gold standard shaft with the Callaway grip on it I've never bothered To get them re-gripped I'm not a big Re-gripping guy I don't really care that Much about my grips to be perfectly

Frank with you but I I feel over the Ball very differently just because of The weight of the two clubs now another Big part about the Jaws especially when Comparing to the md4 is the Callaway Team spoke so much about the face and Again these clubs have been used so These aren't brand new but we have the Full toe which adds grooves here and Then with the Jaws they had um they Added like Cuts in in between The actual grooves of the club to Enhance Spin and they made the grooves More receptive to spin that's where Jaws Kind of comes from you grip the club in My experience there is absolutely no Change in the spin that you can Accumulate on the ball I've put both of These clubs to the test on my flight Scope mevo and there's absolutely no Change in the RPM there's nothing Noticeable at all Um And I think there's been a lot of golf Equipment individuals and golf equipment Brands who review golf equipment who Have also seen no spin changes at all in Terms of RPM this is a lot of golf Equipment gets caught up in Market Employees right hey this is going to Give you a hundred more RPMs to spend This is going to get rid of your slice When at the end of the day a golf club Can only do so much for you so always

Keep that in mind another thing that I Think is interesting about this club and Again in my opinion a bit of a marketing Ploy is having the grooves way out here So again this is full Groove most Standard wedges as you can see the Grooves do not go all the way over to The toe this seems entirely visual to me Because if we're being realistic and You're hitting a 50-yard Chip Shot that You want to spin if you're hitting that Ball this far off the toe I'm gonna go Ahead and say you're not getting any Forgiveness you're not getting any Backspin on it anyway so if having Grooves this far on the toe of a wedge Is a real big selling point for you Let's be realistic and understand that That's not going to make a huge Difference in your game if you're Completely Towing shots the performance Of that shot will not be good regardless Of if you have grooves there or not I Know that a lot of people are big on the Appearance of golf clubs and I think to Some extent looking over the golf club And seeing a pretty Golf Club helps for Me personally I like looking at a driver That looks fast that looks quick that's Why I'm a really big fan of the Callaway Xr16 it's a club that I've Loved it's One of my favorite drivers Um with wedges they have a fairly you Know they have these four weights in

Both of them this has a little bit more Of of a patterning behind the club the Md4 really doesn't again you can get Stamping and whatnot in there the Jaws Patterning here again this is it's a Little bit raised in this area as you Can see Um in my opinion again the weight Distribution matters the way that the Weight distribution visually looks that Doesn't matter to me because when you're Standing over a wedge you see this you Don't see any of this I guess if you Want to impress your buddies you know With a good looking bag this might help For you I don't really care very much About that personally in terms of the Club head itself the material the Quality the craftsmanship Remains the Same I think Callaway does have some of The best wedges in the game you can look At titleists vokey wedges very good Wedges I think Cleveland has very Underrated wedges as well Cowboy is Definitely not there for me and I think In terms of the craftsmanship and the Quality of the wedge itself it's it's Very good it will never from what I Foresee for the future of Callaway's Golf Club in in their equipment side the Quality will not deteriorate it's very Good quality the price point is fairly High comparatively especially with some Lower equipment players kind of creeping

Into the game but I think you get what You pay for with Callaway and I I've Always been a fan of the wedges so it's It's a fairly natural progression if you Have md4s and you got the md4s when they Were fairly new which I can't give you a Year off the top of my head but it's Been several years and those are wearing Down I think I mean if you look at the the wear Pattern on this club I guess I'm hitting it off the toe a Little bit but um the wear pattern Definitely affects wedges because you Want those to be spinning this is a Fairly natural progression because the Jaw seems to have replaced it so if You're in the market for new wedges and You want to stick with Callaway and you Like the feel of the nb4s you're used to It jumping over to the Jaws is not a Huge huge change like I said in my Interpretation I feel a little bit Differently about the weight the weight Of the actual Club in my hands that Could be different for you you might not Notice it you might notice it more than Me that all depends but what I will say Is if you have been used to the md4 for A while I wouldn't rule out looking at Some of these other brands getting a Wedge fitting is something that not a Lot of people do usually think of full Bag fittings and you know some people

Will get a whole set of irons they'll Get a three wood driver but often having Your wedges fit to you is overlooked Just like putter fittings I think those Are overlooked as well but that's Neither here nor there this video is About wedges my final thought on this Cow with wedge progression is if you Have the the end before is you're not Entirely sold on upgrading to the Jaws You can absolutely look into some other Options I would look into a wedge Fitting not a lot of golfers get fit for Wedges so many get fit for drivers and Three woods and a full iron set but Wedges are really where you can get some Nice results especially if you have well Fit clubs you can adjust the lie angle To bounce all kinds of fun stuff on it So maybe try playing around with that Look into all different kinds of Brands Sometimes people will go into a fitting And say I'm a Titleist guy I'm hitting Titleist I want to be fit for Titleist Just go in with an open mind you know Maybe you'll find a new brand like like I said Cleveland isn't really that Appreciated I think they have great Wedges strixon tailor-made titleists all These companies have solid products you Never know what'll work for you so keep An open mind when it comes to it I hope This helped shed some light on the Callaway md4s and Callaway Jaws wedges
